Dr. Jamie Rees

Medical Director

Dr. Jamie Rees is the Medical Director at Country View Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 21 years and graduated from Colorado State University. She prides herself in always accommodating clients and patients with urgent, same-day needs, client communication, and building relationships with patients and clients. In her free time, Dr. Rees likes to spend time with her family, ride her horse, and spend time doing outdoor activities, such as hiking and camping.

Dr. Claire Varnai

Veterinarian

Dr. Varnai joined our clinic from Colorado where she spent a year working in an emergency veterinary clinic while undertaking American accreditation exams. She earned her DVM from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest back in 2023. Dr. Varnai was born in Texas, but grew up internationally, living in Nigeria and Indonesia. Having loved animals and medicine from a young age, she knew veterinary medicine was the career for her. She enjoys working with all animals but has a sweet spot for rescue pets. Her special interest includes surgery and emergency care. She values the bond between her clients and their pets and advocates for the best possible care for her patients. She is excited to join our practice, explore the great outdoors and see all that Utah has to offer.

Tawni Clark, CVT

Hospital Manager

Tawni brings over 13 years of veterinary medical experience to her role as Hospital Manager at Country View Veterinary Hospital. She began her career in 2012 by enrolling in the veterinary technology program at Broadview University and graduated two years later.

Her background spans emergency medicine, vaccine clinics, high-volume surgical centers, and education, but she’s found her passion in general practice—particularly in client education and relationship building. Tawni strives to ensure every client feels welcomed, heard, and respected.

She holds additional certifications in nutrition, Fear Free handling, and CPR. Outside of work, Tawni enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Erin

Certified Veterinary Technician

Erin is a certified veterinary technician at Country View Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 21 years and attended Jordan Applied Technology Center and Mountain Edge. Erin prides herself in client education, her ability to help train others, and getting to know each pet and their owner. In her free time, she loves to listen to true crime podcasts, hang out with her family, bowling, and camping and fishing.

Kirsten Soal

Certified Veterinary Technician

Kirsten Soal brings over eight years of experience to her role as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in zoology from Utah Valley University. Known for her attention to detail, Kirsten focuses on delivering thorough patient care and clear, supportive client communication. She strives to create a calm, reassuring experience for every visit. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, camping, and exploring the outdoors. She has a strong interest in exotic animals and spends her free time researching animal husbandry.

TeAnna

Veterinary Technician

TeAnna is one of our Veterinary Technicians at Country View Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 3 years and went to school at Mountain Edge Vet Technology. She prides herself in her passion for animals, being sure to always prioritize them first. In her free time, TeAnna loves doing outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping, and hiking.

Kierra

Veterinary Technician/ Assistant

Kierra is one of our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants at Country View Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 4 years and went to school at Jordan Applied Technology Center. She prides herself in her ability to provide the best veterinary care possible and her gentle cat handling skills. In her free time, Kierra loves camping and hiking with her dog.

Salem Willies

Veterinary Assistant

Salem has been part of the Country View Veterinary Hospital team for over a year. Known for a calm, compassionate presence, Salem focuses on creating positive experiences for both clients and their pets by using a fear-free approach. Outside the hospital, Salem enjoys reading, crafting, attending concerts, and playing video games.

Ida Starkovich

Veterinary Assistant

Ida Starkovich brings over eight years of experience in the veterinary field and is known for her calm, compassionate approach to care. She focuses on client education and delivering high-quality support to every patient. Outside of work, Ida enjoys hiking and camping with her family and pets, playing rugby, kayaking, traveling, and visiting national parks.

Abby Deroberts

Veterinary Assistant

Abby recently moved from North Carolina to Utah, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm for animal care to Country View Veterinary Hospital. Abby has worked in veterinary care since 2022. She is excited to connect with new clients and their pets, continuing her mission to provide excellent veterinary care.

Working with animals isn’t just a job for Abby. It’s a passion. In fact, she couldn’t imagine doing anything else! Abby firmly believes that every animal deserves a positive experience, and she strives to provide that kind of experience to every client. It’s important to her that our clients know that when they entrust their loved ones to us, they will receive plenty of love and care. Getting to know each animal’s unique personality is also rewarding; they are all so amazing in their own special way.

When not at the clinic, Abby enjoys spending time with her Goldendoodle, Ozzy.

Kat

Veterinary Assistant

I bring over five years of experience in the animal care field, with a background in emergency & preventative medical care, as well as doggy daycare and boarding facility management. I grew up surrounded by many pets including quite a few exotics such as ferrets, rats, lizards, toads, salt water fish, a very angry hedgehog, and of course our beloved dogs and cats. I have a Great Dane, Pitbull mix named Wednesday who is my best friend and always reminds me why I am in the field to begin with.

I attended and graduated early from the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, and went on to attend Salt Lake Community College for Pre-Med and Health Sciences, coming away with a certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

I have a passion for providing the best, safest, and most loving patient care that I can, and thoroughly enjoy building relationships with my pet parents as well as their fur babies.

Tee (Kierstan Babbel)

Customer service representative

Kierstan Babbel, known as Tee, is new to the veterinary field and brings a genuine love for animals to her role. As a pet owner herself, she understands how stressful veterinary visits can be and always strives to help both pets and their people feel at ease. Outside of work, Tee enjoys writing, reading, watching anime, and studying Japanese and Korean. She’s also a dedicated K-pop fan.

Shontell Christiansen

Customer Service Representative

Shontell Christiansen joined the Country View team with a deep compassion for animals and a commitment to treating every pet as if they were her own. She brings warmth and care to each client interaction, helping create a welcoming experience for both pets and their people. In her free time, Shontell enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, and watching movies.

Isabelle Rees

Kennel Technician

Isabelle Rees has been a valued member of the Country View Veterinary Hospital team for over three years. She focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and low-stress environment for every patient in her care. Known for her strong communication skills, Isabelle helps ensure that both clients and pets feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and spending time with friends.
